A formal English tripod mahogany tilt top table. An incredible single piece of mahogany was used when constructing this table nearly two centuries ago and in this time it has developed the most beautiful colour and rich patina together with a smattering of minor surface marks as one would expect for the age only adding to its character. The large circular top is supported by an elegant turned mahogany stem raised upon three splayed legs. The original catch mechanism can be found on the underside of the table top which when released allows it to be displayed in the upright position. Large mahogany tilt top table. England circa 1830.
