Item Details

An 18th century Swedish marriage box. The detail to this early period box is quite exquisite. The oval base is beautifully decorated depicting hand painted tulips in earthy shades of cream and cinnamon with stems of yellow and green all set against a background of swirls and painted circles together with a banner of cream and yellow chevrons wrapped around the base. The lid, although a little time worn clearly shows a pair of angles face to face beneath a large painted heart with the date 1767 at their feet.
