A large pair of 19th century French sofas in original paint with gilded detail. A gorgeous pair of sofas of the highest quality, each one in superb original condition. The show wood frames are structurally sound and still hold the original painted surface which has naturally worn and faded a little in places over the past century but only enhancing their beauty, the gilding still bright and full of lustre. The full backs and seats have recently been re padded and re sprung but will benefit from further upholstery. Left as seen for upholstery of one's own choice. A rare opportunity to find such an exquisite pair of drawing room sofas. France circa 1890.
