Item Details

A small collection of rat de cave candlesticks. For many centuries these iconic candlesticks were used for lighting the way in wine cellars across France. A coiled steel column represents the rats tail terminating with the tip of the tail as the carrying handle. The coil is firmly imbedded in a polished fruitwood base. Highly decorative and functional with fully working adjustable mechanism. Impressive as a collection.
