Another superb example of a fine quality Louis Philippe wall mirror from the mid 19th century. The gilding is exquisitely bright and lustrous with only minor rubs. The terracotta coloured base coat revealed acts as a perfect contrast with the gold leaf. This particular mirror has the Greek key design etched into the surface with a continuous row of gilded gesso beads to the inside edge, all intact! The mirror plate is the original and in perfect blemish free condition. The back boards have never been removed. A completely original French gilded wall / overmantle mirror circa 1840.
