Item Details

An early 19th century hand carved English sandstone sundial. This handsome period sundial consists of four separate pieces. The top section holds an antique bronze sundial complete with gnomon, this sits upon a large two part waisted octagonal column which fits neatly on to a heavy octagonal sandstone base. Nearly two centuries of exposure have created a wonderfully patinated surface with moss and lichen.
Some historical dints but only to be expected for the age related period. A stunning garden sundial centre piece. England circa 1820.
