Item Details

A 19th century French gilded dressing mirror of the grandest proportions. The height to this spectacular mirror is far beyond full scale being an impressive 6 ft 6 inches tall The original gilding to the frame is deep and lustrous with only a small amount of handling wear revealing the reddish basecoat beneath together with a subtle Greek key design neatly etched into the gilded surface. The top is surmounted with a flamboyant foliate crest of flowers and leaves cascading from a central gilded shell. The tall original mirror plate is virtually blemish free giving perfect reflection. Original sturdy panelled back board. French gilded dressing / leaner mirror with original mirror plate circa 1880.
