A large mid century sunburst mirror. The gilding and gesso base to this pretty sunburst mirror has rubbed and faded in places over the past half century revealing the seasoned wooden structure beneath and so creating a wonderfully atmospheric mixture of textures and tones. Alternating architectural feathery rays surround the large original convex mirror plate. Minor historical foxing to the mercury glass only enhancing its mystique. Large atmospheric sunburst mirror. Circa 1950.
