This late 18th-century French faience dish from Hesdin features a decor in blue and white of a man in a medieval attire riding a horse, surrounded by bushes. Painterly brushstrokes in blue render the flowing cape and hat, while thin lines in black add lively details to the face of the horse and rider.


This rare dish is full of characterful details and makes an attractive addition to a wall or tabletop.
