This late 17th-century French pottery dish from Sorrus features a dynamic squiggle pattern in off-white on a deep brown glaze. Its large shape consists of a wide lip and a shallow centre.


The glaze showcases sumptuous textures and a rich variation of earthy tones, while the squiggle unfolds in an exquisite free-form pattern.


With only small glaze losses to the centre, this rare folk pottery dish is in excellent condition. It’s an attractive decorative accent, hung on a wall thanks to a loop at the back or displayed on a tabletop.
