Small Bronze Roman Etruscan Warrior Statuette.


Dressed in combat clothing, with a well defined muscle cuirass, helmeted and originally would have been holding a shield and weapon, both now missing along with the left hand. The original patination is superb. Mounted to archaic marble base (with restoration).


A similar examples can be found in Emeline Hill Richardson Paper "The Muscle Cuirass in Etruria and southern Italy. Votive Bronzes" 1992. Also the British Museum, 1772,0302.238 shows a similar posed figure.
