Displayed on an ebonised pine base and hung from a brass frame, this early to mid-20th Century plaster model of a fetus within its amniotic sac would have once been used in an English medical school for teaching purposes. Displaying life like moulded detail and hand painted surface, the model gives a 360-degree visual representation of the fetus in its last phase of pregnancy. The figure is detachable from the stand as shown.

A naturally aged item with would some chips to the plaster surface and loss of painted detail as shown. Overall, in very good condition considering its age and obvious use. The brass frame some a deep natural patination and the ebonised wooden base is fade some what also. A solid item without cracks or breaks.
