A quite remarkable collection of twenty four watercolour and gouache full length portraits, the majority are dated (1872-1875) and signed with a monogram M.E. These images have come from a small sketchbook. The pictures depict local gentry, dancers, musicians, artists and the like. A lot of the paintings have small blurbs to accompany the imagery. A wonderful view into a keen artists life, and society of the late Victorian era. Each painting has been professionally mounted in antique style water gilt frames.
