A fabulous 19th century oversized classical plaster bust of Apollo by Louis Brugiotti of 4 Leather Lane London 1845-1885, in original untouched condition.

Brugiotti produced busts, medical casts and decorative work. Surviving busts include a small bronzed bust, W.C. Macready, 1847 (private collection)


Brugiotti also published a bust of Shakespeare (examples, National Theatre of Kenya


For teaching purposes at Great Ormond St hospital in the 1870s and 1880s, the founder Dr Charles West used Brugiotti to make plaster casts of body parts to illustrate medical conditions (surviving casts now form part of UCL Art
