An extremely rare English silver plated champange wine bucket with matching stand with makers mark for Elkington & Co, date letter 1918. The ice bucket still has the original liner and ring to ensure the bottle is kept chilled but away from the icy dripping water. in good condition with the right amount of natural patina caused by the age and use of this item.
Founded in 1836, Elkington & Co was one of the most important names in English silver, renowned for its early use of silver plating. The company received various Rouyal Warrants fronm the English Royal Family from Queen Victoria to George IV and was also an Impoerial and Royal Warrant of Appointment to the Emperor of Austria.
