An excellent quality, large scale, engine turned, silver plated serving tray, Circa 1870s, with makers mark to the base for Mappin & Webb.


This mid-Victorian tray is impressively large (45.5cm diameter) and in fine condition.  With three lion’s paw and ball feet, a bobbin rim, the tray has been expertly engine-turned and has an empty, belted cartouche to the centre.  Unusually large, this tray would as look stunning on a hall table as it would in a dining room.


Mappin & Webb are still one of the most famous English silversmiths brand names, with an enviable global reputation. They are recognised as having created some of the most sought after English silverware and have held many Royal Warrants over their long and illustrious history.
