This is a pair of antique Italian sleeping angels that was discovered in Tuscany. They originate from the late 18th century and are entirely hand carved from wood and gilded. Created with a great crafsmenship and artistic quality this exquisite pair was once most certainly the crowning part of an altar. Each angel measures about 38 x 29.5 x 6.5 cm or approximately 15 x 11.6 x 2.5 inches and they are in lovely antique condition with minor signs of ageing mainly seen in a wonderful patina created by the passage of time.
