This is a pair of opulent and extremely rare antique Italian display wall stands that date from the 18th century. Discovered recently in Tuscany this remarkable pair is highly decorative and ornamental in its design. They are hand carved from wood with intricate pattern that is truly outstanding. The finish is in black paint and gilding that after so many centuries still looks just extraordinary. Such items were used in the past to display significant works of art such as statues and busts as well as holders for candles, vases and other decorative treasures. Each one measures about 39 x 25.5 x 22 cm or approximately 15.3 x 10 x 8.6 inches and they are in relatively good antique condition considering their impressiva age, with minor signs of the passed times which is expected.
