This is an extraordinary and extremely rare antique French fortune teller's crystal ball with two mermaids that date from the second half of the 19th century. Discovered recently in Avignon in the Provence region of France from a private collection of 'Cabinet Of Curiosities', this fascinating treasure - of great artistic quality - consists of a real quarz crystal ball that is about 11 cm or approximately 4.3 inches in diameter. The ball is held by two mermaids that are created from gilded bronze. This is a curious and stunning antique artefact that measures about 21 x 20 x 11 cm or approximately 8.2 x 7.8 x 4.3 inches. It is in lovely antique condition with minor signs of ageing mainly seen in some patina on the bronze, which in my opinion only brings forth its true remarkable beauty and splendour today.
