This is a gorgeous and rare antique German globe of the Earth that dates from the 1920 - 1930's. The globe - most probably made of papier mache - is positioned on a bronze arch. This is mounted on a wooden stand with a little compass in its base. The globe measures about 50 x 26 x 25 cm or approximately 18.6 x 10.2 x 9.8 inches and it is in lovely condition considering its age with signs of ageing mainly seen in a lovely patina especially on the wooden base. Such items are highly decorative and would look exceptional on office desks, in libraries as well as in kids rooms. The globe is exactly as I discovered it recently.
