This is an absolutely gorgeous antique Italian portrait painting that dates from the second half of the 18th century or early 1800's. Discovered recently in January of 2025 in Florence, this masterfully painted anonymous oil on canvas is exceptional in its tranquil presence and lasting beauty. There is almost an angelic quality to the portrait that is quite mesmerising. The painting is in its original and truly stunning wooden frame that measures about 60 x 50 cm or approximately 23.6 x 19.6 inches. The canvas size is about 40 x 30 cm or approximately 15.7 x 11.8 inches. It is exactly as I discovered it with some signs of ageing [minor flaking of the paint] which is expected considering its age.
