Discovered on my recent trip to the Provence in the South of France, comes this outstanding antique Italian marble sculpture of a man. Hand carved masterfuly from a block of white marble this captivating artefact depicts a profile of a handsome man with seemingly Roman features that brings forth astonishing beauty and power. Perhaps a fragment of a larger sculptural masterpice it measures about 40 x 30 x 10.5 cm or approximately 15.7 x 11.8 x 4.1 inches. Its exact age is not known but it most certainly comes from the antiquity. The sculpture is mounted on a steele frame on its back that allows it to be hung easily if desired even though it would look just marvellous if displayed on a flat surface.
