This is a gorgeous pair of Italian candleholders that I just discovered in Avignion in the South of France. They are hand carved from wood with metal rosettes and spikes that could hold large candles if desired. What makes them so exquisite today is a wonderful timeworn patina in light blue tones. Such items are exceptional in classical as well as contemporary interiors especially when creating a layered interior display with other beautiful objects. They are probably from the 1800's but could even be older. Each one measures about 46 x 18.5 x 18.5 cm or approximately 18.2 x 7.2 x 7.2 inches and they are exactly as I discovered them with their signs of ageing mainly seen in their outstanding distressed appeal.
