This is a precious and extremely rare antique French painting that dates from the early 17th century. Discovered recently in Montpellier in the South of France, this remarkable artefact is an oil painting on a copper plate that depicts the Nativity Scene with Baby Jesus being surrounded by Mary, Joseph and two angels. It is quite incredible that the painting is about 400 years old yet relatively fresh in colours as well as the its gorgeous artistic interpretation. The painting measures about 17 x 14 cm or approximately 6.6 x 5.5 inches while the frame is about 25.3 x 22.3 cm or 9.9 x 8.7 inches. It is in lovely antique condition with some [minor] signs of ageing expected of such ancient treasures. This in my opinion only brings forth its true magic and beauty today.
