An Italian 18th century antique bronze statue of Athena ex. private collection. Over 240 years old, this striking bronze depiction of Athena is in good condition and has an appealing timeworn patination. The subject, prominent stance and good scale of this bronze Athena is a beautiful decorative piece, suitable for decorative display in modern and traditional interiors alike.

According to Greek Mythology, Athena was the Olympian goddess of wisdom and military victory. Most commonly depicted in wars, she is exceptionally cast in bronze here as she is often described in Greek Mythology, wearing a long robe with armour and a crested helmet.
