https://www.decorativecollective.com/dealers/uk-heritageThis late 19th century Dutch Royal family coat of arms depicts the crest of King William III of the Netherlands and Queen Emma of Waldeck and Pyrmont. William III was King of the Netherlands from 1849 until 1890 and married his second wife, Emma of Waldeck and Pyrmont, in 1879.
Circa 1880, this antique coat of arms is an impressive large scale wall decoration for a period property, instilling any interior with history and grandeur. It is made in spelter with wrought iron reinforcements and is painted in vibrant colours. Below the family shields of Orange Nassau (left) and Waldeck-Pyrmont (right) the crest reads: “Je maintiendrai” (I will maintain) motto of the Orange family, and “Palma sub pondere crescit” (The palm grows against the tribulation) motto of the Waldeck-Pyrmont family.
