A very finely worked antique white statuary marble roundel depicting a profile portrait of a Roman figure in religious dress. Originating from mid 19th century Italy, this large marble roundel is to be celebrated for its intricate detail and craftsmanship, the figure wearing a cap atop his head and a robe embellished with an ornate trim. Spanning a 22 cm (8.6 inch) diameter, this roundel is of relatively large scale, making a stunning feature against a dark interior wall or mounted on a stand as a decorative display piece where its fine beauty can be observed and admired.

Good structural condition. Small areas of dirt and rubbing to surface. Natural imperfections to marble. No wall hanging hooks or display stand included. Not signed.
