https://www.decorativecollective.com/dealers/uk-heritageThis elegant 3 seater reclaimed bench is a beautiful addition to a country garden or courtyard. Handmade in solid teak, it has aged beautifully over time, instilling the wood with an enchanting silver hue while lichens and weathering give it an aged, English country garden look. The style follows an original design by late 19th / early 20th century English architect Sir Edwin Lutyens.
In his time, Sir Edwin Lutyens (1869-1944) designed some of the UK’s most beautiful residencies, castles, memorials and country gardens. Notable buildings include The Cenotaph war memorial in London, Castle Drogo in Devon and the Viceroy’s House in New Delhi, India. However, those less familiar with his architectural works have likely come across his Lutyens Bench, characterised by its scrolled arms and arched back. This Lutyens style teak garden bench is made in this distinctive design, sitting beautifully among wildflowers in a country garden or alongside the stone path of a large courtyard.
