Item Details

These 3 antique Chinese terracotta statue plaques give a glimpse into the world of 19th century ancient China. Made in terracotta, each plaque is detailed with a Chinese inspired figure depicting what appears to resemble a foo dog, a sumo and a musician hand carved by a talented craftsman more than 140 years ago. Originating from China during the Qing dynasty (1644-1911), these plaques were perhaps once used to decorate the building or interior of a temple or notable Chinese residence. They have been beautifully preserved throughout the ages and are today ready to be displayed in an interior, particularly schemes seeking oriental influences and Asian-inspired artwork.
