A small antique Gothic style cast iron fire grate. Beautifully designed with gothic revival styling, this small cast iron fire grate is detailed with balled feet under lion pawed shaped features, tracery, and sweeping finials to the front and sides with a lattice design to the back plate.
Designed for both style and function, it is of a rare size, measuring less than 40cm in width, suggesting that it was once used in a small fireplace of a 19th century Victorian home.

CONDITION REPORT

Good structural condition. There is a filled crack in back. Historic repair to the secondary metal plate attached to back. Fully functioning. Replacement grill.
