A particularly rare set of Victorian painted cast iron and zinc planters with an intriguing design. Each one has twenty cast iron supports into which a sequence of sectional zinc liners is fitted to form the body of the planter. These foiliate supports fit into cast triform and hexagonal base. The large planter has a further cast iron square base whilst the smaller pair have tapering hexagonal bases so all three sit at a similar height. Notwithstanding the impressive design of these planters the sheer size and scale of the set offers a great opportunity to create a wonderful display of plants and flowers all year round in what would be the centrepiece of a garden.

  • Minor scratches, nicks and scuffs consistent with age and use
