A red leather trunk with hand-painted floral decoration and having nailhead trim over a carcass of solid camphor wood. This colour is the rarest and most desirable of the Chinese export trunks. It bears a paper label from Willards Hotel, Washington D.C. 420mm high, 920mm wide and 460mm deep. Chinese. Circa 1830.
