Item Details

A coachbuilder's armorial probably made for his own satisfaction. Made much the same as a coach panel yet much smaller and carved in shallow relief and painted. The equestrian supporter holds the arms of the Coach Makers & Coach Harness Makers and the crest is theirs also, whilst the panther supports the arms of the Painter-Stainers’ Company. The motto, Amor et Obedientia is also that of the Painter-Stainers’ Company.
Made early in the 19th century.
