Item Details

A fine Georgian wrought iron toaster, to toast a slice of bread. The three curled prongs to hold the slice are hinged in order to swing perpendicular, the outer prongs with legs to rest the slice level with the coals in the grate. There is a long steel sleeve with a decorative midway turning followed by a flared brass collar that fixes all to the finely turned mahogany handle.


English, mid eighteenth century.
