Item Details

A finely turned and carved, acorn-sized nut, with a threaded cover; hollow within, perhaps a thimble case. Carved and engraved all round with an anchor and a shield-shaped cartouche engraved with lilies, to either side of which are emblems of war; cannons and barrels.


English or French. Napoleonic period, circa 1800.
