Claire-Jeanne-Roberte Colinet, 1880-1950. High Stepping Girls, signed C.Colinet to the right hand girl's right foot; excellent condition with a deep green-brown patina, standing on a black marble base. 16.5 in high x 7 in dia base. Colinet trained with Jef Lambeaux before moving to Paris. She made her debut at the Salon in 1913 and exhibited at the Indépendants from 1937. In an art world dominated by men, she stood out as a prominent female artist.
