Item Details

A superb 18th century linen press attributed to Gillows. The panelled doors open to reveal the 3 original linen slides, having a fitted secretaire drawer beneath with an arrangement of drawers, pigeonholes and a baized writing surface. With a further 2 short and 2 full length drawers, the whole raised on shaped bracket feet. This rare model retains every original lock, handles and fittings, having the most wonderful original colour and finish throughout. English, Circa 1790.

We share a sketch from the Gillow Furniture Designs 1760 - 1800 which illustrated same model without the embellished cornice.
