About The DC

The Decorative Collective is an antiques, vintage and contemporary Marketplace website for interior furnishings, along with garden ornament and was launched in 2009. It's owner Jane Walton, is a dealer herself. It is a busy and friendly online Marketplace with our various Sellers from around the UK and Europe offering a large selection of antique, vintage, mid century, contemporary and bespoke furniture, lighting, mirrors, art and accessories for the Home and Garden.

Our Sellers upload their items throughout the day, every day, so there is always something new to browse and buy. Clients communicate directly with our Sellers, no commission is charged to our Sellers or our Clients. We run a very transparent website and encourage discussions between both parites. We are also here if you need us.

Creating a CLIENT ACCOUNT is easy. At the top of any page, click on CLIENTS top right, click on REGISTER, fill in your name and password and click on CREATE MY ACCOUNT. You don't need an account to shop or browse our website or to contact our Sellers, but it will enable you to save items to your account so you can refer to them later.

FAVOURITE SELLERS

You can save your Favourite Sellers if you wish to follow when they add new items and once a week on a Wednesay at 2.30pm, you will receive an email notification from the DC listing those of your Favourite Sellers that have added new items in the past week. You then just click on one of their names and you will be taken to their Storefront page on the DC showing all their items. To un-follow a Seller, just go into your client account, go to Favourite Sellers and you will a box with Remove From Favourites. You will also see a quick link to Email them from there as well, along with a link to view their Storefront.

MOOD BOARDS

You can create Mood Boards by clicking on the tab at the top SAVED ITEMS. From that page click on ADD MOOD BOARD, enter the Mood Board name in the box and click on Save. You can move the order in which your Boards show by hovering over them and choosing the DRAG option and move it to where you want.

These are ideal for Interior Designers as they can create Boards for individual projects or category of item, ie chest of drawers. For private clients they are useful too, as you could create a Mood Board for each friend or family member you buy Gifts for, or Boards for each of your Rooms you may be decorating.

Each of your Saved Items will show as a thumbnail and if you hover each saved item, you will see the options available. You can click through to that items page to view all details (if it has been removed from the site by the Seller, then it will be removed from your Client Account), you can drag saved items into Mood Boards easily (you can add a saved item to more than one Mood Board), even on mobile devices, and you can delete it.

This website is very secure. It carries an SSL certificate, meaning any details you fill out on any forms on this website are encrypted for security.
