Mid Century Oil Painting Portrait Beautiful Young Lady Ballerina Dancer By Igor Talwinski.

Subject portrait in side profile of Igor Talwinski attractive niece, she is wearing her light purple ballerina outfit and is sitting with her legs crossed and stretched out, with her pointe ballerina shoes on. She has her right hand raised holding a pretty bunch of flowers, she is gazing curiously at them. she has full lips with rosy cheeks and thick long brunette fair hair, with a flower tied into her hair on top. Her other hand is supporting her as she is leaning, with painted fingernails & her pose conveys her elegance & beauty.

Oil on canvas set in a later decorative moulded frame.

A lovely display size with the frame being 76 cm wide and 67.5 cm high.

Biography of the artist Igor Talwinski was a well established known Polish artist from Poland. He was born before WW1 in 1907 in the Polish capital city Warsaw. He did fight in WW2 and was taken prisoner by the Germans in 1939. He was rescued from his captivity by the Russians near the end of WW2. After WW2 he emigrated to France in Paris. In the early 1950’s as shown in the French archive he had an exhibition at the Salon in Paris.

He is so well known for his portraits of women. His attractive niece is the model seen in most of his works. In the 1970s, he did earn the greatest award the Grand Vermeil. He died in 1983 at which time his paintings become highly sought. His paintings have sold at auctions around the world like Christie’s.

Condition report.

Offered in fine used condition.

Good condition to the painting surface, having some craquelure & foxing, the frame is also in good order with some wear, scuffs, minr chips commensurate with usage & age.
