Folding French firemans ladder. Dating to the early 20th century, this wonderful ladder unfolds to 4 metres with a metal mechanism.
It has hooked ends especially adapted for the use in firefighting. In its original dark red paint, it bears the makers label of Joseph Meunier , Lyon, France.
The ladder appears in the Illustration [see photo] taken from the 1914 Catalogue of the Company Vve. Ant. Varambier & Jn. Meunier based in Lyon, from Municipal Archives of Rosny-sous-Bois.
