Jean Malcles (1912 - 2002) was a renown painter, poster designer and decorator in mid-20th century France. He designed the movie poster for Jean Cocteau's 'Beauty and The Beast'Brought up in Avignon he first came to prominence in 1935 for the designs he created for the first collection of Pierre Frey. From 1948 - 81 he created more than 200 costumes and decorations for theatre, plays and the opera
