Item Description
Patent revolving Candy 'Carousel ' from a café, bar or confectionery shop in Italy with 4 large glass Bonbon or Candy Jars which recline in the oval shaped receptacles on the iron arm ring which sits on the painted metal base.
A metal ball-bearing ring which sits between the upper arm ring and the base ensures a very smooth circular spinning motion. The metal lids for the 4 jars are imperfect with loose seams. and ideally should be resoldered by a metal worker but are nevertheless effective as they are.
The original makers' plaque is fixed to the base (see photo) 'Fratelli Lodi. Torino'
Made in Italy Circa 1900-1930 the carousel measures. 19 inches high overall x 26 diameter and is in very useable condition .
It dismantles into 4 glass jars with 4 aluminium lids, cast-iron base, arm ring, top centre pole and small ballbearing ring.
