Early- Mid 20th Century 'Figurehead' Pub Sign carved in teak - of Gaius Paulinus the Roman Governor of Britain 41-69 AD, originally the pair to a Queen Boadicea figurehead which is now sold.
.
The large painted teak Figurehead is garlanded with oak leaves, the mark of a victor.
The figurehead sign was found hanging in a pub in the London Docklands. with Queen Boadicea as a matching pair of the two figures..
Measures 48" tall x 32" deep x 20" wide ( 122 x 51 x 81 cms), in good condition, in old worn paint .
Carved circa 1930-1960.
