Item Description
Original traditional hand-blown glass 'double ball' seltzer or soda siphon clad in a decorative wired jacket, which comes from a bar in late 19th C. Paris. The wiring on the siphon was to give protection in case the siphon exploded after too vigorous shaking. Engraving on the pewter neck says 'Systeme .Fevre' In excellent condition and theoretically still useable as a soda siphon today. Measuring 18" tall x 8" diameter (lower ball) 6" (46 x 16 x 14 cms)diameter base, circa 1870 - 1900. The 'Veritable Seltzogene' was made by the Fevre company in Paris
