Early 19th century Wall Mirror carved by a Sailor- . The unusual and imaginatively shaped mirror is typical of Prisoner-of-War work- often French sailors kept on captured warships after battles like Trafalgar, who also made inlaid souvenirs and woolwork pictures using materials they had to hand.
In good, slightly worn condition this is an interesting and original piece of 'Folk Art'
