Superb and very sought after 4-Bottle Vintage Champagne Ice Bucket produced for the Taittinger company in a limited edition in the 1980-90's.
Made in France in Pewter by the ancient celebrated tinsmith company 'L'Orfevrerie d'Anjou' (created in the reign of Louis XIV), the slim and elegant ice bucket can hold 4 or even 5 bottles which gives a fan-shaped look when seen front on. The beautiful boat shaped double-sided bucket design is topped on both sides with a facsimile of an ancient medal with latin inscription.

Measuring 19 inches wide x 11 tall x 6.5 deep. ( 48 x 28 x 17 cms) In good condition with some wear and imperfection from past usage, these pewter coolers were created by hand using a soft metal so there is usually some variation in each individual bucket. .The Maker's hallmark is on the underneath of the base- ETAIN (Pewter) and the Orfevrerie company symbol 'Les Etains d'Anjou' etc- see photos.

This is the earlier and more beautiful version of the Taittinger multi-bottle Champagne cooler- the less expensive and later version also for sale in this shop.

The best pewter and nickel plated champagne coolers are increasingly sought after as both Fine Dining and Collectible items.
