Item Description

This charming late 18th-century George III oak standing corner cupboard is a remarkable piece of furniture. The tall upper section features a carved broken swan neck pediment and a dentil-moulded cornice, flanked by a pair of fluted pilasters and canted corners. The cupboard doors, crafted from oak with elegant mahogany crossbanding, open to reveal an interior with three shaped shelves. A pull-out sliding tray separates the doors, enhancing the cupboard's functionality. The piece is elegantly raised on a shaped plinth base. This Georgian corner cupboard exemplifies fine country furniture, showcasing the craftsmanship of the local cabinetmaker who used the finest available timbers combined with classic architectural detailing. Notable for its superb original colour and rich patina, this cupboard is in excellent condition. Its blend of practicality and aesthetic charm makes it an ideal addition to both traditional and contemporary settings.
