Item Description

A stunning 19th-century mahogany partners desk by Holland & Sons. Nine drawers on one side and two cupboards on the other. The top is fitted with a newly tooled light burgundy leather inset, framed by a thumb-moulded edge, resting over two pedestals. Each of the nine mahogany-lined drawers is equipped with original brass handles. The pedestals of the desk stands on a plinth base with castors. The central drawer and pedestals are stamped "Holland & Sons," a testament to the firm's status as one of mid-19th-century London's finest cabinetmakers. Holland & Sons supplied furniture to Queen Victoria's residences, including Osborne House, Windsor Castle, and Balmoral. This desk exemplifies their exceptional craftsmanship, with beautifully lined mahogany drawers. Excellent original condition, having a superb rich colour to the mahogany and the leather.
