Item Description
A collection of the French early 19th century Confit Jars - made famous and so desirable by the lovely Vincent Vvan Gogh and his sunflowers! Harder to find these days of course but still coming out of attics and garages in France.......
Made of Terracotta with an interior glaze and the upper half of the exterior also glazed - this allowed the water to be absorbed in the lower unglazed part - the jar would be filled with some fabulous Confit then sealed and placed in water to preserve the contents until the winter months.....Bon appetit!
