Item Description

A sweet small War Relief Noah's Ark, no animals.

Made by wounded soldiers from the 1914-1918 war by the Charity War Relief Toy Works of Stoke Newington, North London which had been set up to rehabilitate the soldiers back into work.

The arks were their most popular toy, some were painted and some were left plain for the new owners to paint themselves.

They became so well known for their toy manufacture that they exhibited in the British Industries fair in 1922 & 1929.

There has been damage to one edge, re the pictures, but this has been secured.
